I’m Getting Bigger

I’ve had a really busy holiday, which is why you haven’t heard from me lately. My whole house smells like food, and yet I only get the same stuff in my bowl over and over. Something’s unfair about that. But I’m trying to be a good dog, so I haven’t snuck food off the table.

I’m getting almost tall enough to, though. Check out this picture of me (on the right) next to Mandy, who lived here already when I showed up. Look how big I am!

Know what else? I can jump up on Mom and Dad’s bed without any help, either. Of course, they probably don’t want me to do it if I’m all stinky, but I guess if I have a… um… b. a. t. h. it’ll be okay.

So last night Dad and I were walking through the backyard when we saw a big dog walking around too. I wish I could’ve gotten a picture, but I didn’t have my camera — okay, Dad didn’t have his camera — but he said it wasn’t a dog. It was a deer.

I didn’t chase it. It was way bigger than me.

Here’s a picture of me with my favorite Christmas gift. I got a lot of them — my first Christmas, y’know — but this one is the one I liked best.

  1. Hey Doppler: I’m 11 years old and I do the ol’ nose around the countertops. I can get away with it because of my age. When I was younger Mom used to tell me that there was enough food in my bowl and water in my bowl as well. But then again, she made it a point to give me a treat when I was good and opened a door for her or turned on a light. Now I pull her wheelchair uphill when she tells me to pull. She’s disabled with multiple sclerosis from when she was in the Air Force. The doctors that take care of her are in North Carolina so we take a 5 hour monthly trip to the VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC, to take care of Mom. She’s doing ok so far. I get seen by a wonderful veterinary doctor in Dawsonville, named Steve Landreth. He’s great! I run into his office when I see him.

I used to have a wonderful friend named Taz when I was first brought home. He was a Golden Retriever just like you! He was about 4 years old when he passed away. He was also a service dog. He taught me a lot then Mom taught me a lot more.

Well, I better go for now before she finds out that I know how to use her computer. LOL.

    Talk with you later.

P.s. My real name is Cindy’s Cinnamon Kahlua. Mom used to sing to me Louie Louie. Go figure.

  2. Hi Doppler!

I’m a 1-year-old golden retriever, and I hardly have any toys because I eat everything! I was just wondering what kind of toys you and your friend Mandy play with? I need some ideas, because I’ve resorted to eating my owner’s baby’s toys! I’ll look for a response here, or you can write my owner (Lisa) at lisanm22@hotmail.com.

    Thanks!
    Bailey

  3. Hi Dopplar,

I am a one year old Great Pyr/Newf mix who lives with two older Grt Pyrs, they are called Clicquot and Halen, Halen is my best buddy but sometimes Clicquot gets mad at me because I keep running into her and knocking her over. I just get so excited when the people who live with me come home thru the big white door and run all over the place. I like to bark and let everyone know that it is my house.

I liked the picture of your Christmas toys, I did not get toys because I much prefer drywall and sofas, but I did get some pretty cool rawhides which I munch on when the people are home.
    Will bark at you later
